The Configure and verify first-hop redundancy protocols module provides you with the instructions and Cisco hardware to develop your hands on skills in configuring the different redundancy/load balancing protocols for Cisco devices. This module includes the following exercises:
- Configuring HSRP
- Configuring VRRP
- Configuring GLBP
Exercise 1 – Configuring HSRP
In this exercise you will configure HSRP (Hot Standby Routing Protocol) on the NYCORE switches. These switches are layer3 (routing) capable and hence you can also run HSRP on them, which is identical to a Cisco router.
Exercise 2 – Configuring VRRP
In the previous exercise you learnt how to configure HSRP, which was running on the NYCORE switches. In this exercise you will learn how to configure VRRP, this time however we will focus on NYEDGE1 and NYEDGE2 in the lab.
Exercise 3 – Configuring GLBP
In this exercise you will complete the redundancy protocols by configuring GLBP.
