Introduction
The Configure DNS Records module provides you with the instruction and server hardware to develop your hands on skills in the defined topics. This module includes the following exercises:
- Examine DNS Resource Records
- Configure DNS Record Options
Exercise 1 - Examine DNS Resource Records
In this lab, you will examine some common DNS resource records created in DNS servers. Resources records can be automatically created by DNS, as Windows DNS support dynamic updates. They can likewise be created manually for hosts that do not support registration of their hostnames and numerical IP addresses with DNS.
Exercise 2 - Configure DNS Record Options
In this lab, you will change DNS resource record options like adjusting the TTL value that will indicate how long a DNS client will retain the resolved names in the cache, when a DNS server will remove outdated resource records in a process called scavenging and view secure dynamic update settings.
