The Configuring VACLs module provides you with the instructions and Cisco hardware to develop your hands on skills in the following topics:
- Configure and verify VACLs
Exercise 1 – Configure and verify VACLs
VACLs (VLAN Access-Control Lists) is a technology that you can use to help protect your network.
VACLs are useful in many circumstances, but are particularly useful when you want to restrict access between certain hosts even on the same VLAN. For example you may have a scenario where you want to block communication between two servers on the same VLAN.
In this exercise you will configure a VACL to block communication between NYEDGE1 and NYWAN1. This is straight forward as both devices are connected to the same switch (NYCORE1).
