    anyone try application whitelisting to prevent ransomware?

    In theory whitelisting should help prevent ransomware attacks, since the methods attackers use to morph and change malware/viruses change constantly. It’s much easier to keep a whitelist up to date than a blacklist, which makes it easier to administer from a sysadmin or security point of view.
