Hello and welcome back to Part two of our step by step walk through
00:04
of building out R V P. C.
00:07
In our last video, we successfully built our custom vpc.
00:12
In this video, we will launch our easy two instances and build out our security groups.
00:19
So
00:20
let's go back to the AWS console
00:24
now. From the console, it's type E C two
00:31
That brings us to the EEC to dashboard.
00:35
Next, click launch instance.
00:38
And, as always, we will select the Amazon Lennox am I
00:42
t to micro instance type,
00:45
then configure instance. Details.
00:49
This is going to be our Internet facing Web server.
00:53
It will launch from our custom VPC in the public sub net
00:57
and notice that it will automatically assign in public i p address.
01:02
And let's use the role that
01:03
we created a few lessons back to call Rs three bucket.
01:07
Then
01:10
let's go to advanced details and paste in our bootstraps script.
01:22
Next we add storage,
01:26
then click add tags.
01:29
We will give this server name.
01:40
I will use cyberia. Underscore custom on score VP.
01:44
See on the score Web underscore server
01:48
Next configure Security group
01:52
If you notice security groups don't cross vpc boundaries, so we will need to create new ones for our custom. Vpc
02:04
I will call this security group custom on score vpc and score on the web. I'm score server,
02:12
Then copy it to the description.
02:17
Now let's add the ports that we will need to permit.
02:30
So we need to allow icmp so that we can Ping
02:37
Http for Internet
02:43
and https for SSL traffic.
02:46
We need to add that for when we configure our sequel server.
02:52
Okay,
02:53
so review and launch
02:59
Now
03:00
here we can still use our private key from our previous lessons.
03:04
So let's acknowledge that we have access to it.
03:07
Then launch our instance.
03:14
I will filter to see our new instance
03:17
while that instances launching Let's work on our private server
03:23
Same drill as before
03:25
Amazon Lennox am I
03:29
t to micro Instance
03:35
we will lost this instance in our private sub net that we created, which is us East one b
03:44
Next
03:46
those that this sudden it will automatically be assigned a private I p which is what we want.
03:55
Next click add storage,
04:00
then add tags.
04:04
I will name this
04:11
private underscore my sequel and score server.
04:17
Next configure security group.
04:20
And for this well, we could use the default security group for now,
04:30
then review and launch.
04:32
Yep, that looks good.
04:34
Click launch.
04:40
And again,
04:42
we could use our same private key.
04:45
So launch.
04:47
And now we would just wait for both instances to come online.
04:58
Great. So now they're both up,
05:00
so we'll stop here for now.
05:02
In the next video, we will log into our public server and I will show you how to reach your private server using our private keys.
05:11
So until then, see you in the next video.
