our next type connector that we want to cover is going to be our parallel connector, also known as R. L P T. Or our Brian Printer cable. This cable is going to look vastly different on either end. The end that plugs into our computer is going to be a D B 25 port connector. And on our other side we have what's called a sin tronics plug.
That's how we recognize our L. P T cable.
This was used for more than just printers. It still is used for many different devices. You just want to make sure that our big points for this cable par that we use our d B 25 on our computer side and we use our sin tronics connector on our device

Our serial connector also connects many different types of devices, but it's actually simply a nine pin connector that looks similar to our V G. A cable connector. nine being nine pins in 25 25 pens. And for a serial connector such as in the case with our d B nine on our computer end, it won't actually be the receiving whole ports. It'll be actually the male, and the computer actually has the pins on its end.

Serial connectors are still used today for configuring different devices such as switches and routers by connecting to our computers. But the we can't just use any serial cable with our computer for a particular purpose. There are different serial cables, different ways that the
connect on other, the other end of the cable to the other pins and the different wire arrangements. So we want to make sure that we're using that particular serial cable particular serial pin out for its right purpose, whether it be configured on configuring devices or using it, even for a mouse and keyboard, which they could still be used for
